Dear pianists and music enthusiasts,
at the beginning of the year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with much regret we were forced to cancel the "3rd European Competition for Young Pianists" planned for April 2021 in Neuzelle. We are all the more pleased to be able to hold this competition in spring 2022!
We will publish the exact announcement here in September 2021. We are looking forward to a lively participation, personal exchange and many young talents!
The European Foundation of the Rahn Dittrich Group for Education and Culture is organizing the 3rd European Competition for Young Pianists in Neuzelle on 10 and 11 April 2021. The competition will be held in the categories piano solo and piano four-hands / piano duo.
The competition is open to all students who are receiving lessons in a European general education school at the time of the event.
The laureates will perform in public at the closing ceremonies.
Competition piano solo:
Group A: participants born 2008, 2009, 2010
Group B: participants born 2006, 2007
Group C: participants born 2003, 2004,2005
Competition piano four-hands / piano duo
Group D: participants born between 2006 and 2010
Group E: participants born between 2003 and 2005
The average age, calculated according to the dates of birth of the participants, is decisive.
CATEGORY PIANO SOLO
- a polyphonic work of the Baroque period
- a classical main sonata movement (sonata movement) or a rondo or variation work
- one or more works of free choice
Group A: 8 - 10 minutes
Group B: 10 - 15 minutes
Group C: 15 - 20 minutes
All works must be performed from memory.
CATEGORY PIANO FOUR-HANDS / PIANO DUO
Two works of different character and style period.
Group D: 10 -12 minutes
Group E: 12-15 minutes
The category piano four-hands / piano duo allows playing with note sheets.
Category piano solo: 100 PLN or 25 €
Category piano four-hands / piano duo: 120 PLN or 30 €.

The performances will be evaluated according to a point system:
1st price: 23-25 points
2nd price: 22 points
3rd price: 21 points
Diploma: 20 points
The results will be announced at the end of the auditions.
The decisions made by the jury are irrevocable. There is no right of appeal.

The pianoforte factory Julius Blüthner donates a special price.
In each category the competition will be held in one round.
The competition will take place in the auditorium of the Rahn Education Freies Gymnasium im Stift Neuzelle.
Blüthner grand pianos will be available for the competition.
Practice facilities are available at the music school "Clara Schumann" on the Rahn Education campus Neuzelle.
The participants will cover the costs for travel and accommodation. We are happy to assist our guests in finding hotel accommodation in Neuzelle.
In the event that a pandemic (e.g. Covid-19) at the time of the competition in question makes it impossible to hold the competition in the usual way, the organizer reserves the right to cancel or postpone the competition or, if possible, to hold it in an alternative form. By registering, the participants, their parents and teachers accept such a decision.
For the planning and implementation of the competition as well as its documentation and evaluation, the processing of personal data is necessary. This is governed by the provisions of the European Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), the
Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG-neu) and, if applicable, other relevant legal provisions.
The recording of the events within the framework of the competition is exclusively reserved for the organizer. All image and sound rights are held by the organizer.
With the registration, the participant(s) or the legal guardian(s) acknowledge(s) the conditions of the competition announcement.
The organizer expects the laureates to participate in the closing ceremonies.
